Chris Maggs

I am Chris Maggs and I have been the Corporate Director (Social Services) for the City and County of Swansea since July 2008. Before this I held various senior management posts in Adult Services within the City and County of Swansea.
For the last thirty years of my working life I have been involved in a range of jobs that seek to support adults with a learning disability. Before joining the previous West Glamorgan County Council in December 1992 and then the City and County of Swansea as of April 1996, I was employed within the Health Service. I qualified as a Registered General Nurse and then did further training to become a Registered Nurse - Learning Disabilities.
I am part of the Learning Disability Implementation Advisory Group (LDIAG) as a representative of the Association of Directors of Social Services Cymru (ADSS Cymru). This is a role that I have held since the LDIAG began and I was also involved with previous similar groups.
