The Learning Disability Implementation Advisory Group (LDIAG) advises the Welsh Assembly on all issues around learning disabilities. It is key in forming Welsh Assembly policy for people with learning disabilities. Most importantly the LDIAG keeps Learning Disabilities on the agenda.

New statement launched by Deputy Minister Gwenda Thomas in the Senedd

Professor David Felce (Welsh Centre for Learning Disability) and Linton Gower (North East Wales Self Advocacy) co-chairs of the LDIAG, Gwenda Thomas(Deputy Minister Health and Social Care) and Jim Crowe (Learning Disability Wales) spoke at the launch of this key new document. The statement is a vision for the future for people with a learning disability.
It states they have a right to:


"live healthy, productive and independent lives.."

"be individuals and decide everyday issues and life-defining matters for themselves",


"live their lives within their community, maintaining the social and family ties",


"have the support of the communities of which they are a part"
