PEOPLE WITH A LEARNING DISABILITY

Louise Price
Caerphilly People First

I am Vice-Chair of Caerphilly People First and as part of my work with the University of Glamorgan I have made a training video to show students nurses how to treat people with learning disabilities, to respect them and talk to them properly. I use public transport with my friend called Kath who came with me last Monday to the office. It was brilliant and I feel good that I can have a little bit more independence. Last July I went to Croatia with All Wales People First to talk to other advocacy groups. We told them what All Wales People First is all about and talked to them about speaking up for your rights.
