Day
opportunities The
meaningful lives group have been invited to write more detailed
advice for local authorities on how to change day services.
To do this they had a day workshop:
They invited
key people from Wales and England who have experience of doing
this to help us. The guidance is currently being drafted and
will be linked in with the "Policy & Practice"
document.·
They covered 6 things in their workshop:
What
should people with learning difficulties be offered during
the day?
What
help and support should we provide for people?
What should the future of day centres be?
How do we manage the transition from old to new services?
What role should the voluntary and private organisations play
in the new pattern of provision?
