Like all the sub-groups the Meaningful Lives group covers a huge area of topics, all relating to people's general lives. The group's objectives are to:
To test a cost effective way of developing good practice guidance across a wide range of topic areas. These include: Day services, direct payments, work and many more.

Day opportunities
The meaningful lives group have been invited to write more detailed advice for local authorities on how to change day services. To do this they had a day workshop:

They invited key people from Wales and England who have experience of doing this to help us. The guidance is currently being drafted and will be linked in with the "Policy & Practice" document.· They covered 6 things in their workshop:

What should people with learning difficulties be offered during the day?

What help and support should we provide for people?

What should the future of day centres be?

How do we manage the transition from old to new services?

What role should the voluntary and private organisations play in the new pattern of provision?
